Leasing a Horse need information from the insiders?

I have owned my horses since I was 2 until the age of 15 when my father ped. We had no choice but to sell our farm and horses. Since then I cannot stop thinking about riding and being involved again. Unfortunately, I cannot afford a horse on my own since I moved out. I recently heard about leasing a horse and was wondering if some one could give me more detailed information. Is it worth the monthly payments? Will i be the only rider for that horse? Are the costs just as much as maintaining my own horse. I am seriously considering this. most experienced riders would know that after owning your own horse, renting a different one that's not yours on weekends is kind of sucky. So again any detailed information or personal experiences will be greatly appreciated.
