My old cat is terrified of my new kitten! help me please?

Put the kitten in another room for a week or so, pref with a gl door so they can see through. Make a big fuss of the older one and help him to be comfortable in his house. Shut the cat flap when the other one comes out. Go into the other room to see the kitten they will get used to each other they just dont need to be forced into it, you dont need to give the kitten away uve only had it a day! I have 5 cats and at first they will hiss and run away & hide or maybe growl and lash out, they find their place.
