A Question about Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows?

I think it's Voldemort's soul because they are at King's Cross Station and Harry has the choice to go back, but that creature cannot. By leaving the creature at the station, it will be destroyed. Plus, I think "beyond either of our help" also relates to how Voldemort's soul has been so damaged that there is no way for him to be good again.
