Why just me?

when i was 8-10 years old my mom,gramma, and mentally challenge uncle all lived in this old victorian house in upstate ny. scary things would only happen to me, or when i was in the house... when me and my mom would go on vacation back to our home state of michigan, nothing scary would happen.... all my life i have seen things,heard things, and i can sense spirits. my family, and friends who have visited the hosue have seen things, or felt strange chills, or heard noises, in the hosue when i was near them... it only happens to me, or when i was in the house....i was the one who picked out the house becasue i felt no spirits when we first looked at it to buy. in the other houses we looked at i heard children in the basement,or heard footsteps in the upstairs, among other things.... why did these things happen to just me or when i was around, and when i wasnt around nothing happened?
