Honestly, isn't astrology just a fringe crim scam?

Isn't astrology, especially in 2006 as stupid as alchemy, superstition and fundamentalist occult and religion? Aren't the popular newspaper, magazine, and Internet astrologers who are also publishing completely mad books that suggest we can "order" our wishes from the Cosmos, mere con artists who are hustling us for money? They're raking in a fortune from the gullible who bother to put any faith in them, and who if they were sufficiently intelligent would surely admit that all they are getting from the astrology scam is false hope, and this is ultimately destructive, damaging? I mean, surely we can't excuse or dismiss astrology and astrologers as mere and harmless no-brainer "entertainment", not when so many millions of desperate and disparate, shallow and gullible people keep lining the pockets of inane soothsaying astrologers who at best practice a low grade of puerile paperback psychology, and at worst prey on the fears and hopes of the delusional?
