How to get my boxer to stop using his paws on my new pup?

i have an 8 month old boxer/mastiff and a 7 week old shitzu/doxie and my boxer uses his paws alot when they play and im afraid he will hurt the puppy how do i get him to stop using his paws.they love to play together i dont want to make them stop but i dont know how to stop his paws from joining in the play.
